Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 24, 2025

1. Information We Collect

When you sign in with Google, we collect your Google account ID and email address to create and manage your account. We do not collect your name, profile picture, or any other Google profile data beyond what is required to identify your account.

When you use the extension, screenshots you capture are sent directly to Anthropic's API (claude.ai) for processing. ClipClaude does not store screenshots or conversation messages on our servers.

We store the following data in our database:

  • Your user ID (from Google OAuth)
  • Your email address
  • Your subscription plan (free, pro, or power)
  • Your daily token usage counter and the current date (for rate limiting)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

  • Authenticate you and maintain your account
  • Enforce daily token limits based on your subscription plan
  • Send transactional emails (e.g., subscription confirmation)

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

Anthropic: Screenshots and messages are sent to Anthropic's API. Anthropic's use of this data is governed by their Privacy Policy.

Google OAuth: Sign-in is handled via Google. Google's use of data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

AWS: Our backend infrastructure runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS). User data is stored in AWS DynamoDB in the eu-west-1 region.

4. Data Retention

Your account data is retained as long as your account exists. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing hello@clipclaude.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

5. Security

API keys (if stored) are encrypted using AWS KMS before being saved to our database. We use HTTPS for all data in transit. Access to our database is restricted to our Lambda functions running under least-privilege IAM roles.

6. Cookies

ClipClaude does not use tracking cookies. The Chrome extension stores your authentication token and preferences locally in chrome.storage.local — this data never leaves your browser except as described above.

7. Children's Privacy

ClipClaude is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
